YORÙBÁLAND / RESOURCES & DEVELOPMENT

Sources you can inspect. Claims you can question.

Sources, dated findings, development proposals and documentary photographs, with their scope and qualifications.

Research review · 20 October 2026 · Each statistic keeps its own reference period.

Explore the evidence.

These catalogues bring together landscape descriptions, material occurrences, productive capabilities and development proposals. Confirmed describes the specific fact supported by its sources; unverified identifies a detail still needing evidence. Neither label establishes a reserve, ownership right or project approval.

Source dates and geographic scope matter. Company reports remain company reports, and photographs document a place and moment rather than current capacity. Proposals are identified separately from operating activity.

Download the reference data.

These are dated reference snapshots. Each claim retains its own scope and source period.

Primary sources, scholarship and further reading.

Source links sit beside the claims they support. The consolidated list below makes further reading easier; historical reading does not establish current deposits, modern ownership or the feasibility of a proposal.

Evidence, interpretation and rights.

This is independent educational publishing, not a peer-reviewed journal, a competent-person mineral report, an investment offer or a legal opinion. Confirmed means the stated description is supported by the cited source at its stated scope; it is not a guarantee of completeness, current conditions, safety or economic value. Unverified marks a gap in this catalogue, not proof that a claim is false.

Maps and regional categories support cultural and geographic study. They do not establish exclusive ethnic territory, state boundaries, ancestry, property title, mineral licences or rights of access. Towns may be multilingual and culturally shared. Resource proposals require lawful authority, environmental review, applicable permissions and meaningful participation by affected communities.

Company and institutional names identify the subject or source of a statement. Dated announcements are attributed to their publishers; inclusion conveys neither endorsement nor an allegation of wrongdoing. Policy comparisons and future-state scenarios are analytical possibilities, contingent on lawful, peaceful processes and the rights of all residents. Nigeria, Benin and Togo have distinct legal systems; one country’s rules cannot be applied to another by analogy.

Photographs retain their credited source, creator and individual licence. Resizing and display crops are identified; adaptations of CC BY-SA photographs are offered under the same cited licence. Site copyright notices do not override third-party licences or public-domain status. Creative Commons licences do not necessarily clear privacy, publicity, trademark or other rights. Map data retains its stated attribution. Downloads do not transfer ownership of third-party material.

Sources can change, and a review date is not a promise of continuous monitoring. For a specific factual or rights concern, contact the author with the page URL, passage or image, and supporting details. The site does not assert independent legal clearance.
